Showing up in Our Capacities

Our capacities are the extent to which we can endure something. A circumstance, someone's behaviour - any kind of limits.

Our physical and emotional energies vary from day to day. So, there exists a limit to which we can engage with anything, which also varies from moment to moment.

Usually, when we create routines to ground ourselves into the day, it gives us some form of control. But even this routine eventually becomes rigid after a while, and our energies can end up feeling wound up and shackled.

When we honour our capacity, we reduce the strain we put on ourselves to make it easier for us. You learn to not dive into those aspects of your life that are usually difficult for you, Rather, you learn to ease into it, to face its possibilities.

So even when we have to get something done, we allow ourselves the pace to get it done. Whether it's slow, or meandering. Whether you just focus on getting just one thing at a time. Whether treating yourself when you get things done.

The best way is when you strengthen your boundaries. To communicate your limits, to lower your work targets, or sometimes just take the day off. Or maybe even just a few hours. Sometimes all we need is some time to do nothing.

When we honour our capacities, we communicate to ourselves that I know we have to get this done, but your well-being matters to me more. You unconsciously relay the highest form of self-love.

The more you work with your capacities, the more can give to yourself and be of service to others. You learn to extend it, only when it's needed. You learn to give from your overflow. You are no longer depleted of or from yourself
