Creating Space for Our Human Experience

Every moment we tread in our lives is an unknown territory. We are never gonna be prepared for whatever shows up. Our minds lead us to believe that only when certain measures (of our comprehension) are checklisted, a specific outcome is inevitable.

But that's the thing. No matter what, outcomes are an unpredictable facet of life. Even when, especially when all of our requirements are met. Life's course never makes sense and remains a mystery. Even when we long to know the reasons. We need to learn to be okay with not knowing. Of creating a mindset that can hold multitudes, uncertainties and unpredictabilities.

Sacred Embodiment of our Natural Essence

The Practise:

Creating space for your experiences will require you to attune to your body. Each experience, whether you are in it or about to meet it, is felt in the body. To understand this, it will require you to close your eyes and meet your body in its current energy.

Once you feel present in your body, bring the root of the experience to the forefront of your mind. For instance, you're about to go to an event with a lot of people. Recognize what exactly it is about the circumstance that seems like riling you up. It could be whether or not you'll be able to gel with the people easily, or that you are too conscious about the people around you. I bring up these examples because I have been experiencing mild social anxiety lately, and this is something I'm learning to be with right now.

Once you recognize your point of contact,  notice where it is located in your body. You will be able to notice this with just a little bit of focus and intention. Once you do, just be with this energy. Hold its hand. Be with it, breathe with it. Notice how it's feeling afraid and maybe just wants to be accepted. Whatever the storyline, be there. Witness it. Take all the time you need.

Some storylines will require only a few moments, some an hour, some might take a whole day, a few days, a week, a month, a year or years even. Whatever the duration may be. Do not force it. The important factor is that you begin the process.

After a while, you might feel lighter. As if this part (or a small portion of it) has now integrated back into you. Internally, you might feel as if a part of you has been reclaimed. I felt a bit fuller like a small part of me had come back into my consciousness.

Do not underestimate the infinitesimal progress. These micro shifts create a sustaining and long-lasting impact in the long run. Stay on your path, and commit to this progress.

This process can also be used to expand your capacity to experience joy. Everyone's thresholds to experience and hold different emotions vary. Everyone's journey is different. This means each circumstance can be perceived differently as a range, a wide spectrum. These differences hold possibilities of - connection, shared experiences and belongingness.

Until you get used to naturally relying on these practices, it can seem daunting and inconvenient. But once you start the practice intending a change and not backing down no matter how uncomfortable it may seem and sitting through these discomforts, you my friend have already won!

Honestly, with all of my heart, I would like to be a part of a world where the first instinct for each individual is to rely on themselves rather than a third-person opinion, and then carry forward that interdependency with others. You have all the answers. You just need to look within. And dare to listen to the wisdom of your intuition. You have got this!
