Surfing the Waves of Change; In Life

Life is transient. No matter how much we’d like to believe otherwise, things rarely align the way we plan. We make our plans, and life disrupts them in ways we couldn't even think possible. Our objective of control keeps us stressed and anxious because we run out of ideas. We can't control what we don't know.

When we reign control of our emotions and responses in the face of change, we learn to interact with transitions from a place of focus and intention, rather than from a place of fear of change. A sense of groundedness is created when you respond in the present moment, which is your place of power.

Often, the foundations of everything we once knew are uprooted, leaving us to start from scratch. By learning to respond with a focus on what needs to be done moving forward, clarity and priorities can emerge from even the most challenging circumstances.

Life has ways that shake us awake from what we thought we wanted to become the person we are meant to be. This requires us to willingly leave behind everything we thought we were. This is a practice in shedding. At every point, we face grief, remorse, sorrow, sadness and disappointment - all, natural internal responses to this shift.

We must move through these experiences as our false foundation falls apart, and we create our new life with our renowned selves. Our foundation is now anchored in our true sense of being. Once we are rooted in ourselves, these changes become easy to navigate. Especially those instances where the unknown is looming ahead.

Change is the only constant. Our purpose is to adapt to them.
