Now that we've acquainted ourselves to be with our contradicting and nuanced emotions, our objective is to move beyond this.
All of our emotions exist to reveal something about ourselves. Our jealousy and envy teach us where we might be weighing ourselves against others. Our anger and resentment teach us where we need to place our boundaries. Our regrets and remorse teach us to be more loving and to care for those around us, for they can be gone at any time. Our grief and sadness reveal everything that we love. Our disappointments remind us that our expectations aren't real. These are scenarios fabricated by the mind, and not rooted in reality.
Why do want to explore beyond these emotions?
Are emotions are temporary and fleeting. These are like visitors. Meditation, bodywork and my life experiences have taught me that even the circumstances that feel most stagnant and permanent can also change.
Our emotions are subjective. When we notice them from the point of an observer, we see that it's only a part of our personal experience. It doesn't consider about the totality.
As humans, we cannot comprehend totality. But we can train ourselves to view our circumstances from an unbiased lens and make subjective decisions based on our point of view.
We emerge from different points of the spectrum. Our experiences also move around as such. We are never meant to, and can never fully understand others' points of view. But, we can learn that many perspectives exist beyond what we know. This teaches us to open ourselves and cease (or minimize) the labelling.
Emotions lead with our subjective experiences being rightful. Moving beyond our emotions teaches us to be subjective through a filter of objectivity. This allows our subjective choices to be unbiased.
This unbiased state allows us to explore new extents and possibilities, to reach out to the new realms and to explore the unknown. It teaches us to navigate new terrains without being hindered by past concepts and beliefs. It teaches us to reign in all we know and hold control of our emotions.
